Cayuga County is committed to meaningful public engagement throughout this planning effort. To support that commitment, staff are conducting a series of public meeting sessions across the County to gather community input. All outreach has been designed to be accessible and inclusive, ensuring that residents have multiple opportunities to participate and share their perspectives. Below, you'll find presentations from the public meetings held to date.

Public Meeting #1 - Kickoff Meeting

Public Meeting #1 for the Cayuga Countywide Strategic Plan introduced residents and stakeholders to the strategic planning initiative by providing an overview of the project scope and key topics to be addressed, identifying opportunities for public participation throughout the process, and kicking off the first of four community surveys. The meeting was held at three locations to ensure broad participation:

  • Tuesday, July 8th, 2025 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Locke Volunteer Fire Department; 1060 State Route 38, Locke, New York 13092

  • Wednesday, July 9th, 2025 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES; 1879 W. Genesee Street Road, Auburn, New York 13021

  • Thursday, July 10th, 2025 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Ira Volunteer Fire Department; 12591 NY-176, Cato, New York 13033

Public Meeting #2 - Public Visioning I

Public Meeting #2 for the Cayuga Countywide Strategic Plan was the first of two Community Visioning Sessions and provided residents and stakeholders with a project overview, key takeaways from the community survey, and interactive visioning activities. The feedback gathered at these meetings will inform the land use strategies and recommendations that will be a part of the final plan. The meeting was held at three locations to ensure broad participation:

  • Tuesday, July 28th, 2026 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Locke Volunteer Fire Department; 1060 State Route 38, Locke, New York 13092

  • Wednesday, July 29th, 2026 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES; 1879 W. Genesee Street Road, Auburn, New York 13021
