Shaping Tomorrow, Branch by Branch: County Planning's Holiday Tree Bringing the Strategic Plan to Life

The Cayuga County Department of Planning & Economic Development extends a warm invitation to all interested members of the public to come and experience the Ward O'Hara Festival of Trees!

The Ward O'Hara Agricultural & Country Living Museum hosts this annual event, featuring over 200 trees of different shapes, sizes, and themes for viewing.

As part of this year's festival, our staff designed and hand-crafted a variety of ornaments, garland, and a tree topper to create a holiday tree that reflects both Cayuga County and the County Strategic Plan. Each element was chosen to embody the festivity of the season, but also to show the unique character and spirit of Cayuga County. The tree visually showcases the work our team is doing on the strategic plan - highlighting each Town and Village as a part of the puzzle, highlighting smart growth principles, and promoting the Community Survey that our team has been conducting. We hope that you will stop by to view our tree, as well as all of the other beautiful trees at the museum.

When you visit, please take a moment to share your thoughts on our community survey, available in both paper and digital formats, and drop it off at our display for Santa!
