Thank you to all who attended Public Meeting #2, the first visioning workshop for the Cayuga Countywide Strategic Plan. We truly appreciate your time, thoughts, and continued commitment to shaping the future of our County!

Throughout the meetings, residents shared what matters most to them. Participants highlighted the importance of preserving key assets such as the welcoming character, historic assets, water quality, farmland, and natural resources. Residents shared strong support for improving public infrastructure, expanding housing options, strengthening access to public health and social services, and ensuring community support systems.

Central themes residents shared were the importance of balancing growth and economic development with the County’s rural character, celebrating its history, and leveraging its Finger Lakes location as a community asset. Across all conversations, your feedback underscored the idea that Cayuga County’s future depends on protecting what makes it special, while planning thoughtfully for the needs of tomorrow.

By participating in the interactive stations, you offered creative and practical ideas which reinforce the values and priorities that continue to guide this planning process.

Your participation is vital, and we look forward to hearing more from everyone at our next visioning workshop, Public Meeting #3, at the end of September. Meeting details are shared below – please feel free to share this with anyone who’s interested! Meeting notice flyers will be posted across the County in mid-September!
